Introduced in 1936, the Grange was a Collett design as a variation of the Hall, with smaller wheels at 5' 8" - reducing speed but increasing tractive effort to give better acceleration or ability to handle heavy loads.
The GWR 68xx 4-6-0 Grange Class joins Hornby's range of top quality steam locomotive models. A highly detailed model with many separately fitted parts including handrails, pipes and control rods. The cab features crisply printed gauge dials plus red painted regulator and reverser handles. The Chuchward style 3500 gallon tender has a removable coal load and details including lifting rings and cab sheet supports.
