Dragon Armor 1/72 German Stug 3 Ausf G Eastern Front The Black Knight 60413

Dragon Armor German StuG 3 Ausf G Eastern Front Autumn 1944

1/72 Scale

The Sturmgeschutz III (StuG III) assault gun was Germany's most produced armoured fighting vehicle during World War II. It was built on the chassis of the proven Panzer III tank, replacing the turret with a fixed superstructure mounting a more powerful gun. Initially intended as a mobile, armoured light gun for direct-fire support for infantry, the StuG III was continually modified, and much like the later Jagdpanzer, was widely employed as a tank destroyer.

Dragon Armor 1/72 German Kfz.70 6x4 Krupp Protze Personnel Carrier Truck 60427

Dragon Armor German Kfz.70 6x4 Krupp Protze Personnel Carrier Truck

1/72 Scale

Dragon Armor has come up with a fantastic new German soft-skin vehicle, the first ever in this exciting range! It is a 1/72 scale Krupp Protze truck, with this type of vehicle serving throughout WWII after mass production commenced in 1933. A total of about 7,000 trucks were produced up till 1942. This 6x4 vehicle was powered by an air-cooled 3.308-liter flat-four engine. The horizontal engine gave rise to the trucks distinctive sharply sloped nose and also to its nickname Boxer. The truck was used for all kinds of purposes and it was commonly employed for towing light artillery pieces such as the 3.7cm Pak 35/36 antitank cannon. Dragons new model shows the truck in a slightly different configuration, however, that of a Kfz.70 Personnel Carrier. Utilizing detailed research and moulds from a recently released 1/72 plastic scale kit of the Krupp Protze Kfz.70, this is certainly a delightful truck model. The fully built-up miniature incorporates full detail both above and below the chassis. For example, the wheels and independent coil spring suspension are masterfully represented. The Kfz.70 Personnel Carrier is finished in a typical camouflage scheme of early-war gray, and it is registered with its very own Wehrmacht WH number plate.

Dragon Armor US LVT (A)1 Amtrac C Company 708th Amphib Batt Saipan 15th June 1944

1/72 Scale

WWII saw a number of innovative new solutions to meet the demands of modern combat. One such class of military vehicle was the amphibious tractor, often referred to by US servicemen as amtracs. The first such Landing Vehicles Tracked (LVT) were produced by the Food Machinery Corporation (FMC) for the US military. The original military LVT-1 appeared in 1941, but one weakness was its lack of armoured protection, especially in amphibious assaults. The LVT(A)-1 helped rectify this shortcoming, with the A in the nomenclature representing armoured Despite what its name suggests, the LVT(A)-1 was actually based on the LVT-2 and it was employed as a fire support vehicle. It featured an M3 Stuart turret containing a 37mm M6 gun. A total of 510 LVT(A)-1 vehicles were eventually produced. This important amtrac was used at Saipan during the bloody Pacific campaign.

Dragon Armor German Jagdpanzer IV L/48 Eastern Front 1944

1/72 Scale

Dragon Armor?s latest 1/72 scale fully built-up replica is a Jagdpanzer IV. While the unit can?t be ascertained, it is known that it fought on the Eastern Front in 1944. What makes this Early-Production Jagdpanzer IV L/48 model stand out is the exquisite finish of its distinctive camouflage scheme. Sand-yellow blotches are painted over a base of olive green, while an extra dimension of camouflage colour comes from a network of red-brown hatching. Other markings are confined to balkenkreuze on the superstructure sides. A further interesting aspect of this detailed model is the armoured side skirts affixed to the hull sides. All in all, these features contribute to an eye-catching Jagdpanzer IV model from Dragon Armor.

1/72 Scale

The colossal Ferdinand/Elefant 65-tonne tank destroyer was conceived out of ninety or so unwanted hulls and chassis manufactured by Porsche AG for an unsuccessful Tiger design. In the end it was decided to fit the newly developed Krupp 8.8cm PaK 43/2 gun onto this hull. This precise long-range weapon was augmented by heavy armour protection (200mm thick on the front plates). The Ferdinand made its combat debut at Kursk, where the ninety or so vehicles managed to destroy 320 Russian tanks. After the titanic Battle of Kursk, surviving examples were modified, and many ended up in Italy to fight again as the Elefant!

Dragon Armor 1/72 German Sd.Kfz.222 Leichte Panzerspahwagen Poland 1939 60423

Dragon Armor German Sd.Kfz.222 Leichte Panzerspahwagen Poland 1939

1/72 Scale

To support its mobile concept of modern warfare, Germany introduced a wide range of tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles. One wheeled family of vehicles introduced in 1936 included 4x4 armoured cars known as the Leichter Panzerspahwagen, which translates as "Light Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle". Powered by a Horch engine, these vehicles were based on a Horch 801 heavy car chassis to which an armoured body was added. It was armed with a 2cm KwK.30 L/55 cannon and MG34 machine gun in an open-topped turret. A crew of three operated the Sd.Kfz.222. In early-war campaigns such as the invasion of Poland it performed well as a reconnaissance vehicle for panzer divisions. Following the initial success of a 1/72 scale Sd.Kfz.222 model, Dragon Armor is now introducing a second vehicle. As before, the model has a superb level of detail. But this time it bears markings such as white crosses that were worn by vehicles fighting in Poland in 1939. Dragon Armor's fully assembled Sd.Kfz.222 possesses all the detail expected of such a model. For example, the mesh screen covering the open-topped turret resorts to a photo-etched part to ensure it s true to scale. The gun muzzle, too, is realistically hollowed out. The vehicle is finished in an accurate shade of "panzer grey" camouflage paint from an unidentified unit in the Polish campaign.

This vehicle possessed four-wheel drive but production ceased in 1941 as part of German efforts to standardize production. Dragon Armor German Heavy Uniform Personnel Vehicle Type 40

1/72 Scale

Dragon Armor launched a fully built-up 1/72 scale model of the Kfz.70 Personnel Carrier and is now following up this popular release with another important German soft-skin vehicle from WWII. The new item is a Heavy Uniform Personnel Vehicle Type 40. This 4x4 heavy car served in all theaters of WWII. The original Type 1a had four-wheel steering, while the later Type 1b produced from 1940 onwards had regular front-wheel steering. This vehicle possessed four-wheel drive, but production ceased in 1941 as part of German efforts to standardize production. The personnel carrier was powered by a V8 Horch engine of 3.823-litre capacity. The open-topped body containing three bench seats (able to accommodate five passengers and the driver) is full of detail. Even the tread pattern on the floor plate is replicated! There is also an MG34 machine gun provided on a pintle mount for antiaircraft duties. The model beautifully captures the look and stance of the 4x4 heavy car. The vehicle is finished in the standard Panzer gray colour of German vehicles from the early-war period, while small details like the WH license plate are also present.

Dragon Armor British Churchill Mk.3 Fitted for Wadding 14th Canadian Armoured Reg. Dieppe 1942.

1/72 Scale

The Churchill, referred to officially as the Tank, Infantry, Mk IV (A22), was named after the British prime minister at the time of its design in WWII. The tank was heavily armoured and it featured a long chassis with long track runs that enabled it to cross difficult terrain. The first Churchill's were hastily churning off Vauxhall production lines in June 1941, within a year of the tank?s design in the aftermath of the humiliating Allied defeat in Europe. Various improvements occurred, with the Churchill Mk IV variant featuring a cast turret instead of the all-welded turret found on the visually similar Mk III. Its main armament was a QF 6 pounder gun. Weighing in at approximately 40 tonnes, the Churchill had a particularly slow top speed. The Mk IV was the most numerically common model of the Churchill, with 1,622 tanks produced.
