Revell 1/18 Opel Kadett B Rally (08838)
In 1965, partly in response to the growing demand from motorists for more space and comfort, Opel brought out the Kadett B. This car obliged with well-designed seats, ample space, sporty driving characteristics and a classy chassis. The successful Kadett B formed the basis for numerous model variants. One such was the robust and very reliable Rally Coupé that came out in November 1966 and was based on the B Coupé. With their powerful but reasonably priced Rally Coupé, the people in Rüsselsheim were responding to the obvious rally sports boom in the mid sixties. They succeeded, on the one hand, in offering a genuine sports car with distinctly sporty features, that was eminently suitable for the road, but which, on the other hand, was an ideal platform for motor sports, as it would prove in many rallies.
