Air Force One Models die-cast 1/72 B-17G Flying Fortress "Bit O'Lace" 447th BG, 8th AF, 1945 AF1-0110 is based on the aircraft that was received by the 447 Bomb Group in the summer of 1944. It is ready painted and assembled to a high quality and is complete with a display stand. Named after a famous cartoon character, the aircraft flew 83 missions, with various pilots, and retired without having aborted a single mission.
This Air Force One Model of the USAAF B-17G Flying Fortress Bit of Lace has a wing span of nearly two feet and is a welcome addition, making an interesting comparison with the Corgi Aviation Archive Lancaster. The Flying Forts suffered grieviously on daylight missions until the Mustang long range escort became widely available.
