Farm mechanisation progressed rapidly in the 1950's and farmers with large fields and heavy soils demanded increasingly more powerful tractors for plowing. Diesel engine development wasn't fast enough for some and Doe built a series of double-engined behemoths, delivering over 100bhp. Custom built from two Fordson Majors, one pivoting on the front of the second, with power steering between the two units, this was the Doe Dual Drive, the Triple D.
