Excellent model in metal and wood of the Royal Horse Artillery quick firing field gun introduced in 1913. Used in great numbers in WW1, there was a particularly fierce engagement at Nery when an artilleryman won a VC. Withdrawn from frontline service in 1936 although some may have been used in exceptional circumstances.
For ceremonial purposes a battery of six guns is used at almost every royal occasion where a salute is fired - as at the Queen Mother's funeral. The guns are kept at St. John's Wood.

Superb all brass `quarter scale' model of a .303 Vickers machine gun. The model was built around 1961 by Mr. Maurice Dollin completely from scratch, from solid brass so there are no working parts.. Incorporated on the display base is Sgt. Instructor Albert Dollin's cap badge from the Machine Gun Corps, which was only in existence as a corps for 3 years.
The model is complete with its tripod mount, ammunition belt and box, condenser can and hose. The base measures approx. 15" x 11 1/2" while the barrel length is 11" and tripod splay also 11".
It is cased in a perspex display case measuring 16" x 12 1/2" x 8" high. more.. | |

Excellent model of this important and powerful German gun. The Afrika Korps' initial success in the desert was in no small part due to the quality of its artillery and this model is based on a gun shipped to Africa.
Made from metal and wood with an overall size of 31" x 9" x 7 1/2" high (79cm x 23cm x 19cm). Its another good sized model.
