The EC 135 is a state-of-the-art light helicopter with most of its airframe made of fibre composites. The cabin can accommodate 7 passengers or a complete set of rescue equipment. In addition it has good accessibility and loading capabilities. It has a Fenestron shrouded tail rotor to reduce noise and prevent accidents. Since 1970 the ADAC has proved that the efficiency of emergency rescue services can be considerably improved if doctors are transported by helicopter and this has given a great impetus to development. The ADAC air rescue service has had the EC 135 in service since the beginning of 1997 and therefore operates one of the most economical low-maintenance helicopters.

As one of the most successful helicopters in recent years the twin engined, light helicopter EC 135 has become a real best seller for Eurocopter. The EC 135 is characterised by its low-noise Fenestron tail rotor, a cellular structure and fiber tissue rotor blades as well as a multirole capability. It is one of the least expensive helicopters of the new generation requiring only a minimum of maintenance. The EC 135 started service with the Police Helicopter squadron in Laage / Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in may 1999, while at about the same time the Bavarian Police began flying the helicopter from München-airfield. The EC 135 is being used for traffic surveillance and rescue operations. It is equiped with a weather radar, a search light, FLIR, infra red camera and rescue winch.

The EC 145 is a medium-heavy, twin-engined helicopter that was developed in collaboration by Eurocopter and the Japanese firm Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The BK 117C-1 was the predecessor of the new helicopter designated the type BK 117C-2 that became the EC 145 after the production line was taken over. The first machine made its maiden flight on 12th June 1999 at Donauwörth. The first machine for the Sécurité Civile was handed over in May 2001 at NŒmes in France. Compared with the BK 117, the EC 145 has a new fuselage with a roomier cabin. Advantages of the new rotor blades on the EC 145 are a considerable reduction in vibrations and a 25% increase in range. The EC 145 is approved for blind flight and can be operated by one or two pilots and at night. Its particular advantage as a rescue helicopter lies in the greatly extended range by comparison with other helicopters in the same category. The EC 145 is therefore the first choice for flying patients over long distances to special clinics. The ADAC currently operates two helicopters of this types stationed at Mainz and Senftenberg (Brandenburg). more..
more | Revell 1/32 Eurocopter EC-145 REGA (04492)
The Eurocopter EC145 offers plenty of space for patient, doctor, pilot and paramedics, has a long range and a powerful rescue winch. The EC 145 is the fully upgraded successor to the familiar BK117 and EC135. As a first step towards the replacement of the REGA helicopter fleet, in 2003 the lowland bases at Basel, Bern, Lausanne and Zürich were equipped with a Eurocopter 145. Today the fleet consists of 5 type EC145 helicopters and 8 type A 109 K2, including one Eurocopter and two Agustas in reserve. By the end of 2009 the remaining Agustas will also have been replaced. The REGA Swiss emergency service is the largest air rescue organisation in Switzerland. 13 helicopter bases are distributed throughout Switzerland so that under good flying conditions points of accident (except: Wallis Canton) can be reached in 15 minutes flying time.

more | Revell 1/32 USAF P-38j Lightning Fighter WW2 (04701) The P-38 Lightning was one of the most feared fighters of World War II. Thanks to its outstanding flight performance and enormous fire power, this high-altitude interceptor had numerous successes during its service with the USAAF. The prototype was launched on 27.01.1939. At the end of 1942 the first P-38s went into action in the Pacific theatre of war and quickly gained their reputation for great reliability. From October 1943 the P-38 was also flying long-range bomber escort missions over German territory. Due to its feared low-level strikes and surprise high-altitude dives, during the North Africa Campaign the German pilots gave it the nickname "Gabelschwanzteufel" (Fork-Tailed Devil). A total of 2,970 of the J version were delivered. The two Allison engines each had an output of 1,425 hp (1064 kW), top speed 660 km/h at an altitude of 7,600 m.more..
more | Revell 1/32 Messerschmitt BF109 K4 (04702)
The Bf 109 is one of best known Luftwaffe fighters of World War II, with a total production of over 33,000 in a wide variety of versions. In 1943, in response to the massive Allied bomber threat, the order was placed for a high-altitude fighter. The prototype 109 K-4 was made in October 1943. With the K series all the previous modifications to the G series were united in one aircraft giving an overall improvement to its flying capabilities. For the new DB-605 D with large loader and MG 131 a wider engine cowling without any protruberances was designed. The engine cowling is shown without any protruberances. One MK-108 was used as an engine-mounted cannon. The K-4 also had an aerodynamic fairing in order to improve performance. The plywood equipment panel was redesigned. To save on aluminium, some of the components were made of wood and sheet steel. In production all the machines were equipped with an MW-50. Up to April 1945 about 1700 of the K-4 were produced.

more | Revell 1/32 Tornado ECR (04718) The Tornado ECR is one of the most effective NATO weapons systems for electronic combat and reconnaissance. Already in 1985 there was in existence a concept for the Tornado ECR that differed considerably rom normal fighter-bombers, which has been flown by No. 1 Squadron of German Fighter-Bomber Group 32 since May 1991. Compared with the fighter-bomber version, the Tornado ECR was equipped with additional systems and sensors to enable it to undertake its roles in the fields of electronic warfare and tactical reconnaissance. The ELS (Emitter Locator System) can pick up, identify and locate radar systems as a passive sensor. To attack the targets the weapons system is armed with the AGM 88 B "HARM" guided missile. In July 1995 Fighter-Bomber Group 32 transferred a contingent to Piacenza, Italy in order to carry out the first German Air Force combat mission since the end of World War II, within the framework of UN and NATO peacekeeping measures over Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Kosovo in 1999. Since 1996 No. 1 Squadron has been a fully active member of the NATO Tiger Association and has given impressive demonstrations of its performance and commitment at various tiger meets. Further evidence of its high level of involvement in the Tiger Association are the ever more original special liveries that it has worn at the meetings, each one a labour of love by the Squadron that serves to enhance its public image.more..
more | Revell 1/32 Mig 21 SPS/MF Fishbed (04719) During its service life the MiG 21 was used throughout the world like no other military aircraft. For a long time it was the standard fighter used by the air forces of the Warsaw Pact states and proved itself as a successful fighter-interceptor and fighter-bomber. It is the successor to the MiG 15 and MiG 17 and 19 and went into service with the Soviet air forces in 1960/61. This extremely high-performance fighter won several records, such as a speed record of 2,388 km/h in 1959 and an altitude record of 34,714 m in 1961. The MiG 21 received its baptism of fire in the Vietnam War and in the wars in the Near East. Over time it was continually improved and adapted to current operational conditions, giving rise to versions such as the SPS that was introduced in 1964. The MF version was equipped with a more powerful engine and upgraded electronics, together with a modern radar system. The Turmansky R-13- 300 turbojet engine with 6,600 kp thrust gave it a maximum speed of Mach 2.1 at 11,000 m. The MiG 21 SPS, nicknamed the "White Shark" by Fighter Squadron 1, is a representative of this type with one of the most attractive special liveries.

Following a succession of quick rolls, the machine veered off to the right and crashed to the ground, plummeting the test pilot to his death. Despite this tragedy, Henkel decided to continue with the programme. Recognising that development had been too hasty, the weak points were soon identified and in the following January the first improved He-162s were delivered for trials with the troops. By May 1945, 116 aircraft had been built, 50 of which were deployed by the fighter squadrons in Leck.

more | Revell 1/32 Hawker Hunter F. Mk. 6 (04727)
The Hawker Hunter is still one of the most elegant jet fighters ever to have been developed, a genuine legend. It went into service in large numbers with the Royal Air Force from 1954 onwards and was a popular aircraft with many aerobatics units. The prototype flew for the first time in 1951 and two years later set the ultimate speed record. The Hunter is known for its simplicity of operation and its stable flying characteristics, making it the favourite of every pilot who has ever flown it. About 2,000 Hunters have been built; they were in active service with 18 different air forces. During the nineteen fifties and sixties the Hunter was known by the RAF and NATO as the "watcher of the skies". Although the F6 version was essentially designed as a fighter interceptor, it could also carry bombs and up to 16 guided missiles. Some of the Dutch F6s also received AIM-9B Sidewinder missiles that were carried on external pylons. Most of the Hunter F6s were used by squadrons stationed in Great Britain, but by 1957 the RAF squadrons in Germany and some other units in the near and far east also had it. Many Hunters were exported or manufactured under licence, under which system the Belgian and Dutch air forces were two of the main NATO users. The last Hunter did not go out of service until 16.12.1994, a splendid tribute to the capabilities of a magnificent aircraft.
